“Last year, we got a call just a few minutes after they got back, and it was Eli,” Hubbell continues. “‘Floyd,’ he says, ‘I hate to bother you, but I need to borrow a can opener. Seems we can’t find one.’

Hubbell continues, “So I say sure, I’ll send Cole over with a can opener. But Eli says no, he’ll come get it himself. So there’s a knock on the door and I meet him at the door with the can opener. But no, Eli comes in and he’s got three cans. And he opens them right there and then hands me the can opener back and apologizes for the intrusion. Can you believe that?

“That’s Eli.”
